Voter Services and Education

In June and July, the Governor signed the 2023 Budget Bill and various pieces of related legislation that were passed by the Legislature to implement the budget for the 2023-24 fiscal year. The budget spends $310.8 billion in total state funds, consisting of approximately $225.9 billion from the General Fund, $82 billion from special funds, and $2.9 billion from bond funds.

We make voting easier through varied voter education programs.

The League of Women Voters Education Fund conducts voter service and citizen education activities. It is a nonpartisan nonprofit public policy educational organization, which:

  • Builds citizen participation in the democratic process.
  • Studies key community issues at all government levels in an unbiased manner.
  • Enables people to seek positive solutions to public policy issues through education and conflict management.

Why It Matters

The leaders we elect make decisions that affect our daily lives. Elections are our chance to stand up for what matters most to us and to have an impact on the issues that affect us, our communities, our families and our future.

What We're Doing

We host many candidate debates and forums across the county each year and provide straightforward information about candidates and ballot issues. Through print and online resources, including VotersEdge.org, we equip voters with essential information about the election process in the county, including polling place hours and locations, ballot information, early or absentee voting rules, voter registration deadlines, ID requirements and more.
